Today we will look at the model BMW F01, which is the fifth generation of the 7 series, and also the flagship limousine of the German group. This is a luxury sedan that was produced from 2008 to 2016.

The F01 was the first BMW vehicle available with hybrid drive, an 8-speed automatic transmission and a turbocharged V12 engine. It was the second 7-mki series, available with a turbocharged gasoline engine (the first of which is E23 745i from South Africa) and all-wheel drive (xDrive). The wheelbase has been increased by 8 cm compared to the previous 7 series.

The car design was designed by Canadian car designer Karim Habib. The styling retained some of the elements from the predecessor, but it was decided to remove controversial elements among enthusiasts. The headlights resembled the E65 7 series, but were smaller and more elegant. The car contained a wider and larger kidney grille that went deeper into the front apron, providing a more aggressive look. The F01 7 series was larger than its predecessor. Added 1.7 inches (43.2 mm) to the overall length and 3.2 inches (81.3 mm) to the wheelbase, while increasing the weight of the car, making it more majestic.

The car was first shown to the public on Red Square in Moscow (Russia) on July 8, 2008. Other model inaugural events included the Paris Motor Show in October and the Los Angeles International Auto Show in November

The F01 was the first vehicle BMW, available with rear-wheel steering (integrated active steering), all-wheel drive (xDrive), eight-speed automatic transmission, pedestrian recognition with night vision function, blind spot monitoring, rear seat massage function and radar speed control system, which are able to completely stop the car and accelerate from a standstill (Active Cruise Control with stop and go).

Side cameras are mounted in the front bumper to help the driver maneuver in narrow spaces. By connecting these cameras to the front and rear cameras, the F01 can display virtual car graphics to help with parking.

What users praise this model for is the comfort and ergonomics of driving, dynamics and a lot of travel pleasure.

The disadvantages include expensive operation and high repair costs, greater failure rate than in previous and poorer models.
