Catalyst number B34D from Mazda 323

Mazda 323 also known as Astina in Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand, Mazda GLC, and as Mazda Protege in North America, is a passenger car from A and B segments produced by Mazda.

It was originally produced in Japan in 1977–2003 for foreign markets and is still produced today, but only for local sales in Japan.

The 323 was Mazda’s best-selling vehicle in the USA. With over 10 million units, it has also been listed as the best-selling Japanese brand car in the world. It’s a series that has appeared on the market with many consecutive names around the world, such as 1000, 1200, 1300, 800, 808, Mizer GLC, 323 (common name in Central and South America). In the USA, it was originally called GLC (G reat L ittleC ar), and finally in 1990, described as Protegé. In South Africa, where it was also produced, it was named locally as Etude.

Mazda 323 from 2000

Model 323 was manufactured in Hiroshima (Japan), although it was also assembled in China, Columbia, Malaysia, New Zealand, South Africa and Taiwan. In North America, 323 had a very difficult entry due to the decision to produce it in the US, where its mechanical quality, its origin was underestimated (Japan and the US were not very friendly towards each other), and also for the sake of strong competitors such as Toyota or Renault, who offered cheaper cars – Corolla or Encore.

The production of the model was divided into 6 generations.

I – 1977- 1980 323 FA

II – 1980 – 1985 323 BD

III – 1985 – 1989 323 BF

IV – 1989 – 1994 323 BG

V – 1994 – 1998 323 BA

VI – 1998 – 2003 323 BJ

The view of this model is extremely rare on Polish roads. Perhaps because not everyone is aware that he is at the forefront in the ranking of the least emergency cars.

The best opinions among users are definitely enjoyed by the 323F from the BJ version, and therefore the last – the sixth generation, which made a sensation on the Polish market only less than a decade ago. Despite the high rigidity of the suspension, the car provides great traveling comfort. The car ensures reliability, good handling, powerful engines, driving ergonomics and a reasonable price.
