The well-known and honest Fiat Seicento is a segment A car produced by the Italian manufacturer in the years 1998 – 2010.

The model was presented as a successor  Fiat Cinquecento, ale is not much different from its predecessor. It maintains the same engines, chassis and overall dimensions, although its length was slightly different (3.34 m).

They were also very similar on the outside. Seicento maintained the same three-door hatchback instead of five doors, as in many Korean and Japanese models of the same segment (Daewoo Matiz and Suzuki Wagon R.) Like its predecessors – Cinquecento and Polish Fiat 126, Seicento was built at the Polish Fiat factory in Tychy.

From 1998 to April 2004, approximately 1.1 million models were produced.

The name comes from “six hundred” as the car was to be the successor of the mythical Fiat 600. On the fiftieth anniversary of the latter, the model name was changed to 600.

In Euro NCAP crash tests, Fiat Seicento received 3 stars, which made it the safest car on the market at that time! Seicento was also based on the Cinquecento model, created in 1991, when no crash tests have yet been performed.

At the beginning of the sale, Seicento was available in three equipment versions; basic “S” with black bumpers, Spartan interior and Italian 899 cm3 engine, “SX” version equipped with colored bumpers, central locking, electric windows and sliding roof, and “Sporting” version with more powerful FIRE engine, aluminum wheels and sports seats.

In 2001, the Sporting version received a converted bodykit. All items were standard equipped with ABS. A new edition of “Michael Schumacher” with sport design has been launched to celebrate the victory of Michael Schumacher in Formula 1.

In 2004 The right-hand drive models have been discontinued. The production of models with the steering wheel on the left continued until May 2010.

In 2005, the name Seicento was changed to 600 and minor changes were made to the body arch and interior. This change of designation and style was a kind of commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the start of the production of the legendary Fiat 600.

Although Seicento was to replace Fiat Panda II in 2003, Fiat Seicento was essentially replaced in July 2007 by the Fiat 500. Despite this, sales of 600 continued in Poland until May 2010.
